The entire Göta Kanal

Day 1                  Töreboda-Sjötorp-Töreboda (40 km)
The starting point is Töreboda, a perfect starting place with good train connections. You will bike along the canal, passing 19 locks to Sjötorp. In Sjötorp there is lunch served at the café beside the tourist information. In order to learn something about when the canal was erected 200 yeras ago, you must take a look in the Canal Museum. When you feel, you return to Töreboda in your own pace with many breaks. Then you will spend the night in the freshly renovated rooms of Pensionat Prästgården in Töreboda. The dinner is served at boarding house Prästgården, one of the cosiest restaurants along the canal.

Day 2                  Töreboda-Forsvik-Karlsborg (49 km/29 km)
Today the bicycle trip brings you to the day's goal Karlsborg. You will bike on small winding roads along Lake Viken. If you find it too long a distance to bike all the way, you can book in advance for travelling with the bicycle-boat VikenSnabben in Tåtorp. You will then easily come across the small, beautiful lake Viken to Brosundet where you enjoy your lunch-parcel. From here you will ride your bike to Karlsborg by Lake Vättern. Here you will complete your day with a fine dinner and a comfortable bed at hotel Idas Brygga/Idas Strandgård. But first you will of course have to take a very exiciting guide tour around the fortress of Karlsborg. 

Day 3                  Karlsborg-Motala-Borensberg-Berg-Norsholm (20 km by bicycle + taxi and boat rides)
Strengthened by a nutritious breakfast it's time to go to Motala. A cab will pick you up at Idas Brygga. You will arrive in Motala at 10.00 am and the ship M/S Sverker departs at 10.30 am. Before you'll arrive in Borensberg at 12.30 you have been served lunch on board. Then you are ready to take your bikes to the great stairs of locks in Berg, well-known for its magic technique. Later in the afternoon the ship RoxenSnabben will take you across Lake Roxen in about 45 mins. Dinner and boarding is waiting at Captain Billes Restaurant in Norsholm just along Göta Canal.   

Day 4                  Norsholm-Söderköping (25 km)
After breakfast you,ll bike along to Söderköping with a stretch along Lake Asplången before you return to the old tow path. When you reach the end of this day's trip, Söderköping, you'll check-in at Hotel Laurenti, and you will have dinner in a cosy restaurant somewhere in Söderköping.

Day 5                  Söderköping-Mem-Söderköping (12 km)
The last thing on the trip is breakfast. But we suggest that you bike another 6 km to the very end of the Canal, Mem, and back.
