A return trip on Gota Canal

Day 1                  Töreboda-Sjötorp-Töreboda (40 km)
The trip starts in Töreboda, where you easily arrive by train. From here you will ride your bike on the old towpath along 19 locks in Göta Canal on your way to Sjötorp situated where Lake Vänern starts. You will enjoy your lunch at the café besides the tourist information. In order to learn how the canal was constructed 200 years ago, you will have to visit the Canal Museum. On your way back to Töreboda you might stop at Hajstorps Café for an ice-cream. Having returned to Töreboda, a marvelous dinner will be served in the cosy restaurant at the boarding house Prästgården where you also will spend the night.

Day 2                  Töreboda-Tåtorp-Jonsboda (18 km)
After a nice long breakfast you will ride your bike towards Tåtorp. At Lanthöjden, you can see the 7 meters high obelisk, which marks the highest point of the channel at 91.5 meters above sea-level. After having taken a walk around the sluicing area in Tåtorp, you will turn back towards Töreboda again. But this time you will stay at Jonsboda Café & Camping just after passing Vassbacken Camping. Here you will stay over night in a nice little cottage at the very edge of the canal. You will grill your dinner after having tried to get a fish or of course you should use the nice sauna for relaxing. After that you certainly will sleep well in the great stillness surrounding you. 

Day 3                  Jonsboda-Töreboda (8 km)
After breakfast preferably outdoors, you'll continue by bike towards the end of this package in Töreboda. But please take your time and enjoy another while of stillness and wonderful nature around you, before turning back.
