Walk along Göta kanal

Summary

Day 1 Töreboda
In the afternoon you check-in at Pensionat Prästgården. You will spend the night in our freshly renovated rooms. Dinner is served in a restaurant in the marina area. 

Day 2 Töreboda - Sjötorp - Jonsboda (27 km)
After a tasteful breakfast we pick you up and drive you to Sjötorp - an idyllic little place in Summer. After having visited the Canal Museum in Sjötorp you will start walking along the canal to Norrqvarn where lunch is served. You'll walk through the beautiful scenery and pass 19 locks on your way. After having reached Töreboda again you will continue on the tow path to Jonsboda Café & Camping site, which is beautifully situated just at the canal edge. Here it is very peaceful and you can try fishing or bathing in the canal before grilling your dinner. The cows are grazing just by the site. Perhaps you would like to try the sauna as well in the evening before a good night's sleep in a small cottage. 

Day 3 Jonsboda - Forsvik (11 km)
After a nice breakfast it is time to continue walking along the canal to Vassbacken Café and then you will pass a narrow part called Bergskanalen as well as the peninsula Lanthöjden, which is the highest point of the canal at 91.5 metres above sea-level marked by an obelisk. In Tåtorp you will take a boat over Lake Viken to Brosundet and now it´s 3 kms left to Forsvik.  Dinner is served at Forsviks Café & Mat and a bed is waiting at Sköna Rum.

Day 4 Forsvik - Karlsborg (10 km)
After breakfast you will continue the trip to Karlsborg. Lunch is served at Restaurant Idas Brygga. Then we suggest that you visit the Fortress of Karlsborg. Dinner is served Idas Brygga where you will also stay the night. 

Day 5
After breakfast you will leave Karlsborg by boat. At 10 am M/S Sandön will take you back to Töreboda. During the slow, beautiful ride you will enjoy lunch on board.
