Gotland with Fårö

Summary

Day 1                                                Visby
Just outside the Visby Ring Wall the hotel "Best Western Solhem hotell" is situated. You'll find the hotel at Solhemsgatan around 400 mtrs from the harbour, beautifully situated in the Pallisad Park. When you feel like, you can take a look around the town. Perhaps you'll find a cosy restaurant where you want to enjoy your evening meal.

Day 2 (45/55 kms)     Visby-Lärbro
After a good night's sleep and a nice breakfast the adventure starts. Don't forget your lunch-parcels in the reception. Today you'll start biking north along the sea and after 1.5 hours, you will reach the Lummelunda Caves. There are guided tours every hour that are very interesting as they take you back 400 million years in time. On your way to the cave we recommend a visit at Krysmyntagården - a herb-garden with a shop and a café. Take now a look of this islands beautiful scenery. You are going to pass great places but don't hurry, you've got enough time to enjoy them. You will bike through a nature reservate at Higgingsklint and a bit further on you'll have a gorgeous view at the outlook between Häftingsplinkt and Hagvarts. After Hagvarts you'll see rauks at Medebys. Bike towards Hallshuk where you see a light house. Next you'll pass Kappelshamn before you head off inlands towards Lärbro where you stay the night and have a tasteful dinner in the youth hostel.

Day 3 (50 kms)                                  Lärbro- Fårö
The goal of today is Fårö and on your way, on some of the roads you'll be biking just along the sea. On your way you'll pass the lake with the turquoise blue water, called "the blue lagoon".  You will bike towards the ferry berth where a ferry will take you over to Fårö. At Sudersands Semesterby dinner is waiting and you'll spend two nights here.

Day 4 (rest)                                                Fårö
Today you get your lunch-parcels and discover the island. We recommend you to visit any of the rauk areas like Gamlehamn, Digerhuvud and Langhammars. You can bathe in Ekeviken. Of course you've got time to bike to the very north of the island to see the Fårö light-house.

Day 5 (63 kms)                                   Fårö-Åminne
After a day on Fårö it's time to take the ferry back and bike south, towards Åminne. Don't forget your lunch-parcel before you leave. In Åminne dinner is waiting and a cottage to sleep in during the night.

Day 6 (36 kms)                                   Åminne-Visby
After breakfast you will bike the last stretch back to Visby passing a lot of old churches and farm-houses. You will bike to the centre of the island and visit the islanders' old meeting place, Roma Kungsgård. Here you'll find handicraft and art from Gotland. You can buy handicraft, have a cup of coffee, participate in a guided tour or just stroll around in the historical surroundings. For more info and prices: http://www.romakungsgard.se/ . From here you bike straight to Visby for the last evening. 

Day 7                                                Visby
We hope you've got a tasteful breakfast and a lovely stay in Gotland. While you're waiting for your ferry home, you will probably get time to go shopping in the stores.
